Only the Z mount system could achieve this f/2.8 ultrawide-angle zoom lens that offers the ultimate image quality with the world’s shortest* and lightest* package. Thanks to the adoption of a double-sided aspherical lens for the front element as well as the short flange focal distance realized with the Z mount system, great reduction of its total length and weight and highly improved optical performance are attained. Also, the attachment of screw-on filters is made possible at the lens front, despite it being a fast f/2.8 ultrawide-angle zoom lens starting at 14 mm.
